TRIESTE NEXT
13th Edition

Since its first edition, Trieste Next has become a platform to discuss the key issues of the scientific and cultural debate: from food to water, from energy to the relationship between man and technology. The 2024 Edition aims at outlining the scientific agenda of the coming years, presenting new ideas and strengthening the synergies between STEM disciplines and the human and social sciences.

Trieste Next

With its 2 Universities and over 30 international research centres, Trieste is undoubtedly an international Capital of Science. Thanks to its strategic geographic position – at the centre of the so-called”old” and”new” Europe -, Trieste aims at becoming a global hub of scientific excellence and at pursuing innovative partnerships with the corporate sector.

Trieste Next is designed as a temporary “observatory” and “laboratory”, thus eventually becoming an international ricercatori oltre 35 ogni 1.000 occupati contro una media europea showcase where state-of-the-art applied research, new technologies and innovative companies meet. Technology transfer is a key factor, since without research and innovation there is no growth nor economic development.

Trieste Next aims at raising the awareness on the issue, thus promoting the importance of partnerships between academia and the private sector.

Academy

BA, MA and PhD students from all over Europe may apply to join the Trieste Next International Academy Fellowship, a special initiative aiming at favouring the participation of young researchers and perspective scholars.

Trieste Next 2024 is planning to welcome over 500 participants who will attend the full schedule of events.

Students may also attend guided tours in research centres, dedicated seminars and selection sessions organized by the Festival’s scientific partners and representatives from the corporate sector. The 2024 Edition of the Trieste Next International Academy Fellowship will focus on biotechnologies, medical sciences and artificial intelligence/robotics.
