Abstract
Coastal ecosystems represent a delicate balance between land and sea, making them particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. These changes not only affect biodiversity but also put human activities along the coasts at risk. Extreme weather events, such as storm surges and flooding, are likely to become more frequent and intense. Sustainable management of coastal resources and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are crucial to mitigating the impacts of climate change for future generations. This event is part of the "Mare Sopra" science communication project, coordinated by the University of Trieste and supported by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
