William Hasselberger

William Hasselberger è professore associato presso l’Istituto di studi politici (IEP) dell’Università Cattolica del Portogallo (UCP) e direttore del Laboratorio di etica digitale, un centro interdisciplinare per lo studio delle tecnologie emergenti e del loro impatto sulla società. È anche vicepresidente della Commissione etica della ricerca dell’UCP per la tecnologia, le scienze sociali e le discipline umanistiche, nonché ricercatore in visita presso l’Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture dell’Università della Virginia, USA. William Hasselberger ha pubblicato ampiamente nei settori dell’etica, della filosofia della mente e della natura umana e dell’intelligenza artificiale. Co-dirige un gruppo di ricerca internazionale sull’etica dell’IA. Attualmente sta scrivendo un libro sull’impatto delle tecnologie di intelligenza artificiale sulle relazioni umane, sul carattere morale e sulla società.

William Hasselberger is an Associate Professor in the Institute for Political Studies (IEP) of the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP), and the Director of the Digital Ethics Laboratory, an interdisciplinary center for the study of emerging technologies and their impact on society. He is also vice-president for the UCP Research Ethics Commission for Technology, Social Sciences and the Humanities, as well as a Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia, USA.

William has published extensively in the areas of ethics, the philosophy of mind and human nature, and artificial intelligence. He co-directs an international research group on AI ethics.

William is currently writing a book about the impact of AI technologies on human relationships, moral character, and society.
