Linda Laura Sabbadini è stata direttrice del Dipartimento per lo sviluppo di metodi e tecnologie per la produzione e diffusione dell’informazione statistica dell’Istat. Ha guidato, in Italia, il rinnovamento nel campo delle statistiche sociali e di genere a partire dagli anni ’90. Ha guidato il processo di definizione degli indicatori di benessere equo e sostenibile. Pioniera internazionale delle statistiche di genere. È stata esperta per molti anni della Commissione Nazionale Parità, della Commissione Povertà, dell’Osservatorio Nazionale dell’Infanzia e dell’Adolescenza e di numerose altre Commissioni di esperti nazionali. È Chair del Women20, engagement group del G20. E’ stata membro di numerosi gruppi di alto livello e di centri di eccellenza presso l’ONU, Eurostat e OCSE per le statistiche sociali e di genere. E’ autrice di oltre 100 pubblicazioni scientifiche e monografie. Dal 2016 è editorialista de La Stampa e dal 2020 di Repubblica. È stata inserita nel 2015 tra le 100 eccellenze italiane.

Former Director of the Italian Statistical Institute (Istat), where she led the Department for the Development of Methods and Technologies for the production and dissemination of statistical information. She has led the renewal in the field of social and gender statistics in Italy since the 1990s and led the process of defining equitable and sustainable well-being indicators. International pioneer of gender statistics, she was an expert on the National Equality Commission, the Poverty Commission, the National Observatory of Childhood and Adolescence, and many other commissions of experts. She is Chair of Women20, the G20 engagement group. She has been a member of countless high-level groups and centers of excellence at the UN, Eurostat, and OECD for social and gender statistics. She is the author of over 100 scientific publications and monographs. Since 2016, she has been a columnist for La Stampa and, from 2020, Repubblica. She was included in 2015 among the 100 Italian excellences.
