EUCLID, THE DARK SPACE EXPLORER

The Euclid space telescope, launched on July 1, 2023, will observe billions of galaxies, peering back in time to the universe as it was ten billion years ago. These observations are crucial for unraveling the mysteries of cosmic acceleration and the nature of dark matter. Before taking on this monumental task, Euclid observed various objects in the nearby universe, including galaxy clusters and groups (such as Perseus, Fornax, and Dorado), spiral galaxies, and dwarf galaxies. We will discuss how a telescope is managed from 1.5 million kilometers away and describe its first remarkable scientific results.
