We shall explore the fascinating world of minerals and rocks found in the Earth’s crust, on the Moon, and in meteorites, describing how they tell the story of the Earth and the solar system itself. We shall display samples obtained from the DIVE deep drilling project (http://www.dive2ivrea.org/), which reached a depth of nearly 1 km in the Alps, as well as various meteorites. There will be opportunities to examine rocks similar to those found in the Karst, which provide us with clues on how cosmic events, such as meteorite impacts, have shaped the Earth’s surface and affected living organisms.
