Domenico Golzio è laureato in Fisica. Dopo aver lavorato nei settori delle telecomunicazioni, automobilistico e aerospaziale, è entrato a far parte dell’EPO come esaminatore di brevetti nel campo delle ICT. È stato direttore di un’unità di ricerca ed esame, ha guidato lo sviluppo di motori per la ricerca di anteriorità e informazione brevettuale e ha dato origine al dipartimento di Data Science. Ha svolto attività di ricerca su vari aspetti della proprietà intellettuale, come il legame tra brevetti e innovazione, l’informazione brevettuale, portafogli internazionali di brevetti e confronto tra diversi sistemi brevettuali. È membro dell’Associazione Italiana Documentalisti Brevettuali (AIDB), dell’IEEE-USA Intellectual Property Committee, dell’IEEE-USA AI Policy Committee nonchè IEEE Life Member

He graduated in physics. After working in the telecommunications, automotive, and aerospace industries, he joined the EPO as a patent examiner in the ICT field. He was director of a search and examination unit, led the development of prior art and patent information search engines, and originated the Data Science department. He has done research on various aspects of intellectual property, such as the link between patents and innovation, patent information, international patent portfolios, and comparison of different patent systems. He is a member of the Italian Association of Patent Documentalists (AIDB), IEEE-USA Intellectual Property Committee, IEEE-USA AI Policy Committee as well as IEEE Life Member.
