Leticia F. Cugliandolo è una fisica teorica nota per la sua ricerca sui sistemi disordinati e vetrosi e sulla termodinamica fuori dall’equilibrio. Dopo aver completato i suoi studi in Argentina e conseguito un dottorato in fisica delle particelle, ha lavorato presso La Sapienza di Roma nel 1991, dove ha sviluppato un interesse per la dinamica della materia condensata morbida e dura al di fuori dell’equilibrio. Tre anni dopo, si è trasferita a Parigi per un post-doc a Saclay, diventando poi professoressa associata all’École Normale Supérieure e infine professoressa ordinaria alla Sorbonne Université. È membro della National Academy of Sciences degli Stati Uniti e dell’Institut Universitaire de France, ed è stata direttrice della Les Houches School of Physics. Ha ricoperto il ruolo di editor per diverse riviste internazionali e, da giugno 2024, è editor-in-chief del Journal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, edito da Sissa Medialab
Leticia Cugliandolo
Leticia F. Cugliandolo is a theoretical physicist known for her research on disordered and glassy systems and non-equilibrium thermodynamics. After completing her studies in Argentina and earning a PhD in particle physics, she joined La Sapienza in 1991, where she developed an interest in the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of soft and hard condensed matter systems. Three years later, she moved to Paris for a post-doctoral position in Saclay, then became an associate professor at École Normale Supérieure, and eventually a full professor at Sorbonne Université. She is a member of the USA National Academy of Sciences and the Institut Universitaire de France, and a former director of the Les Houches School of Physics. She has been editor of several international journals and since June 2024 she is editor-in-chief of Journal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, from Sissa Medialab.
