Simone Arnaldi

Simone Arnaldi è professore ordinario di Sociologia generale presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali dell’Università di Trieste. Ha conseguito il PhD in Scienze Sociali. I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano gli studi sociali su scienza e tecnologia e, in particolare: l’immagine pubblica della scienza e il public engagement; la partecipazione pubblica e le politiche della scienza e della tecnologia; la responsabilità nella scienza, nella tecnologia e nell’innovazione; la diplomazia scientifica. Ha partecipato a vari progetti di ricerca nazionali e internazionali sulla governance della scienza e della tecnologia, come Epoch, Keen-Regions, Res-Agora, Synenergene, RRI-Practice ed EnRRI. È stato Visiting Scholar presso l’Institute of Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) del Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), con una borsa di studio del German Academic Exchange Program. È Presidente della Società Italiana di Studi su Scienza e Tecnologia (STS Italia).

Simone Arnaldi (PhD in Social Sciences) is Full Professor of General Sociology in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Trieste. His main research interests lie within the field of social studies on science and technology, particularly focusing on: the public image of science and public engagement; science and technology policies and public participation; responsibility in science, technology, and innovation; science diplomacy. He has participated in various national and international research projects on the governance of science and technology, such as Epoch, Keen-Regions, Res-Agora, Synenergene, RRI-Practice, and EnRRI. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), supported by a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Program. He is also the President of the Italian Society for Science and Technology Studies (STS Italia).
