Abstract
Marine ecological restoration is a rapidly expanding field of applied multidisciplinary research, aimed at combating biodiversity loss and the degradation of marine habitats. This concern is echoed in the objectives of the European Union's recent Nature Restoration Law, which aims to restore 20% of the EU's land and seas by 2030 and all ecosystems by 2050, thereby contributing to the mitigation of the climate crisis and the loss of biodiversity.
