Abstract
"For over thirty years, I have dedicated my life to researching a hereditary neurodegenerative disease, Huntington's disease. Italy is full of stories of research and passion, many of which resonate with my own experience. This book tells the stories of science, of female scholars, and the questions they pursue. Through the voices of these women, I will guide readers on a journey through diverse fields of study, from ancient languages to astrophysics, and even the lives of chimpanzees, with the aim of raising collective awareness about the contributions of today’s female scientists to the cultural, scientific, and social growth of our country. I believe that the stories captured in this book represent a revolution in progress—the beginning of a journey that will free young women from the burdens and prejudices that, in the past, have hindered or slowed their paths to emancipation and the fulfillment of their aspirations. It is a revolution where new role models, which were often missing for the girls of yesterday, will multiply, and I hope they will inspire the girls of today and tomorrow to fully realize their potential."
